Owen Architects have designed a new concept restaurant and wine bar located underneath the London Bridge railway arches.
The design pays homage to the industrial heritage of the site and the origin of the Bob’s Lobster brand as street food and wine truck. The railway arch open plan layout, high ceilings and exposed brickwork, are a well suited environment to the Bob’s Lobster signature van for informal, creative small seafood dishes.
The slightly sheltered formal banquet seating area allows for a more relaxed and intimate dining experience, while seated at the small tables behind the listed historical façade, one can observe the ever changing street scene.
The red faux leather padding of the banquette seating, the marble patterned bar worktops and the black and white mosaic floor tiles are balancing the colour composition of the interiors.
The warm dark timber of the furniture and joinery, together with the pale blue of the corrugated metal sheet cladding add a calming subtle hue.
Decorative stylish light fittings combine the art deco nostalgia with elegant modern lines and are crafted in solid brass with opaque glass shades that produce a soft, warm effect.
