The client owned two adjoining apartments located on the 8th floor of a riverside development. The brief was the amalgamation of the apartments, creating one large five bedroom residence for their family.
Key objectives were to deliver elegantly flowing spaces with thoroughly considered detailing while providing suitably functional rooms for contemporary family living and entertaining of guests.
The revised layout is driven by following the notion of the radii of the party walls and curved façade of the development.
The newly introduced rotunda provides a sense of arrival and is an elegant feature gently directing guests and family members into the living and dining spaces or the privacy of bedrooms and bathrooms.
The entire apartment has been designed in a contemporary style using bespoke joinery to define spaces but ensuring design continuity. The selection of light timber flooring, alabastrine coloured walls and ceilings and the combination of warm walnut and contrasting spray-painted finishes of all bespoke joinery provides a calm and elegant atmosphere to receive decorative items such as furniture, rugs and art for a homely feel.
